Gemma Blakemore

Starting in the industry later than most, Gemma started her bricklaying career at the age of 23 after finishing a degree in fine arts and studying teaching. Currently 28 years of age, Gemma was initially drawn to the art of brickwork known as ‘uptight brickwork’ for its complex, fine and intricate patterning.

Succeeding in a male dominated industry, Gemma’s ‘can do’ attitude and passion for learning new skills has enabled her to lead a bricklaying team of six, as well as holding the position of second in command in her current role. Passionate about the industry, Gemma is currently studying a Diploma of Business at night. Gemma is thrilled to be able to work alongside a Brick Master as part of the Brick Masterclass and can’t wait to incorporate the skills she will learn during the course to better her every day work.
