Brick Master Troy Everett
Troy Everett is the Brick Master for the inaugural Brick Masterclass 2010 and imparted his expert knowledge and skills to the talented pool of participants.
He was the NSW Bricklaying Apprentice in 1992 as well as winning the overall NSW Apprentice of the Year title in the same year.
He is employed at TAFE NSW Illawarra Institute and has been actively involved with WorldSkills Australia since 1992. He has been Chief Judge and Designer of the National WordSkills Competition since 2002.
Troy was the Australian International Bricklaying Expert for the WorldSkills Competition in Helsinki (2005) and Deputy Chief Expert in Shizuoka (2007) and Calgary (2009).
He has attended competitions and Bricklaying skill development programs in Ireland (2007 and 2009), United Kingdom (2009), Switzerland (2003) and South Korea (2001).
The last three years he has been active in mentoring within the Apprentice of the Year program.
He has also undertaken research at Charles Sturt University in the area of language, literacy and numeracy in the construction industry and subsequently received the Elizabeth Anne Bailey Award for his work.
