About Masterclass
The Brick Masterclass is a new industry initiative by Think Brick Australia.
It has been designed to help develop leadership and craft skills in young bricklayers who’ve shown the potential to help our industry meet the current and future demand for excellence in building and construction.
Some of Australia’s best young qualified bricklayers were invited to attend the 5-day intensive live-in course that was designed to hone their practical skills and increase their leadership and management skills.
Participants learn’t about leadership, team management and personal development as well as practical skills including craft and design.
Program Outcomes
At the end of the program, participants are better equipped to:
- Appreciate the changing landscape of the industry and choose their path within it
- Understand what makes a team successful and have practical tools to help them achieve this as a leader
- Have better insights into what drives behaviour, understand how behaviour impacts on others, and the behavior of others impacts on them
- Apply tools and experience to effectively communicate to, delegate and motivate others
- Develop and enhance the skills of others through coaching and feedback
- Sharpen their technical skills through working with and learning from a bricklaying master craftsman.
